Subject: Why You Need a Career Portfolio
Content:
Hi [NAME],
Most people in a job search only think about how to “find” a job. However, finding jobs is perhaps the easiest part of the job search process. How do you increase your odds of getting an interview and an offer?
A career portfolio gives you an edge. In one word, a career portfolio is evidence. It’s a collection of items that help prove you have the skills you claim to have. Most job seekers claim they have certain skills but don’t provide tangible evidence. If you can do this, you’ll always have an edge over your competition. You're already producing tangible evidence of your skills in projects, work samples, achievements, awards, etc. but if you're not saving it in a portfolio, it means you're currently just throwing all of this evidence away!
Check out the Skill Builder Develop a Career Portfolio. If you haven’t yet setup your free CareerPrepped account, simply go to www.careerprepped.com/group and sign yourself up using group code [GROUP CODE].
